A Guardian reporter interviewed Sarah Palin while she was giving autographs to her fans. Sarah put her Sharpie marker on a book, a hat, and an American flag. The latter of which is against the law!
Salon blogger Emma Mustich caught the flag desecration at 1:35 in the below video. Palin autographs a star-spangled banner, then waves it and smiles.
According to extant law, "The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature." Rallying against flag desecration is a perennial right-wing rabble-rousing technique, but I have it on good authority that Sarah Palin—who once wrote a book about "family, faith, and flag"—had her fingers crossed when she did this, so it's probably fine. Just stand in front of a mirror at midnight and chant "Bloody Hussein Obama" three times, and all sins against state will disappear.

I was offended when she had her picture taken in her running shorts for Runner's World and was using the American Flag as a prop. She was leaning against it while it was unceremoniously draped over a chair...very near the ground. I learned not to treat the flag like this when I was in the Brownies. She is gross.

She is not trustworthy. She has nobodies interests in mind except her own. She's an embarrassment to any thinking person, American, liberal and conservative. I curse the day when John McCain brought her the national attention she so richly does not deserve. I don't wish her dead, I do wish she'd just go away. I was on the fence re the presidential election until I saw what kind of running mate McCain picked. I asked myself if he could make that bad a decision regarding a vice president, what kind of idiocy would he perpetrate as president? I chose not to find out.

Since anti-Americans (like liberals) burn flags all the time and are found to be under the protection of the First Amendment, it seems odd that some moron would claim it is a violation of "extant law" to make marks on it... But consider the source. What it points out, though, is the unfathomably deep well of hypocrisy that libs draw on whenever they open their lying mouths.
